The Boone County Sheriff Department announced it will be having a DWI checkpoint in the upcoming days. The 4th Amendment of the United States Constitution protects us against unreasonable searches and seizures. Are these checkpoints reasonable under the 4th Amendment? Jennifer and Gary discuss that issue. Also, are we a free society or a police state? The door to door manhunt for suspected Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev raises some concerns- what would you do if you were one of those residents in Watertown? Is this practice Constitutional? And who do we have to sue or what steps should we take to protect our liberty? Finally, Jennifer confesses some hypocritical nanny-state leanings when it comes to motorcycle helmets. All of this and more discussed on the Gary Nolan Show on May 2, 2013.

On this week’s show, attorney Jennifer Bukowsky and Gary Nolan, host of The Gary Nolan Show on 93.9 The Eagle, discuss several legislative matters pertaining to gun control. Missouri State Senator Kurt Schaefer uncovered evidence that the Missouri Department of Revenue has been sharing concealed carry permit holder information with the federal government, in direct violation of Missouri law. Under Missouri law, the names of concealed weapon permit holders are confidential. Among other topics, Jennifer and Gary discuss the vote on new gun background check measures that is planned for today.
